In February 2015, Arab Center for Agricultural Development “ACAD” carried out three visits to the Tammun Cooperative Society in Tammun (Tubas), which aimed to introduce the women participants to the governing principles, as well as the operation and establishment of cooperative work. The visits also focused on cooperative success stories to encourage the women to launch their own small economic projects.
Each visit began with a welcome speech by Mr. Said, the cooperative representative, in which he introduced the idea behind establishing the cooperative, its function and its developmental impact on the village at large, as well as the cooperative beneficiaries in particular. He also shared with the visitors the cooperative idea of implementing a saving and credit program, highlighting its goals and principles.
The visits ended with a visit to the historical village of Sebastia and ended with a tour of Nablus.
The project is funded by the European Union and implemented in East Jerusalem in partnership with three CBOs: the Domari Society of Gypsies in Jerusalem, the African Community Society, and the Burj Luq Luq Social Center Society.
