In partnership with Palestine Technical University – Khadoori, ACAD organized on Tuesday 12 May 2015 a celebration to distribute graduation certificates for fourth year students of Faculty of Agricultural Science and Technology - Khadoori University who participated in the training course “Start Your Project”, which was held in March of the same year. The training course was organized within the activities of a project entitled “Youth Entrepreneurship Project” funded by the European Union and the French Foundation “Planet Finance” and with support and partnership of the Italian Cooperation and the Italian Consulate.
The 30-hour training course in which 39 male and female students participated aimed to introduce students on how to start small and medium size enterprises as pilot projects that can be implemented by newly and fresh graduate students and consequently help them to enter the labor market.
During the training course, a group of students prepared work plans and feasibility studies for their own economic enterprises. In its turn, ACAD, through support provided by the Italian Cooperation, financed the application of the economic enterprises that were prepared and implemented by the participating students as simplified and minimized models. Within this activity, participants measured success opportunities for their own enterprises and their sustainability as well as the potentials they have for development and transferability to economic enterprises which students can start up after their graduation as a source for adequate incomes and decent living.
The celebration included a number of words and interventions by each of Dr. Mahmoud Irhail, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Khadoori University, Mr. Khalil Al-Khatib, ACAD Executive Director, Mr. Issa Shatleh, ACAD’s Programs Manager, Mr. Mohammad Musleh from the Italian Cooperation and Basel Jarrar, ACAD Finance Operations Manager. During the celebration, participating students presented their pilot enterprises (7 enterprises). Meanwhile, a specialized committee from Khadoori University and ACAD evaluated the projects presented by students and other projects, which didn’t have the chance to be presented due to tight time constraints. The committee chose two distinguished projects, which were granted financial awards offered by the Italian Cooperation as encouragement to continue the implementation of their pilot projects.
