On Thursday 12 March 2015, the Arab Center for Agricultural Development (ACAD) in partnership with Palestine Technical University - Khadoori concluded a training course entitled “Start Your Project” in which 38 male and female students from the Faculty of Agricultural Science and Technology participated. The training, which has continued for ten days (30 training hours), took place at the University in Tulkarem city.
The training included a variety of subjects such as how to choose and develop ideas for investment enterprises and projects and how to prepare economic feasibility studies and work plans for such projects. By the end of training, the participants presented feasibility studies for agricultural enterprises and for agricultural production related enterprises. It is worth noting that the participants presented pilot and creative ideas and studies that have the potential to be applied and invested in.
It also worth to mention that these training courses come within the activities of a project implemented by ACAD entitled “Youth Entrepreneurship Project” (YEP) in cooperation with the French Foundation “Planet Finance” funded by the European Union. YEP targets graduates and newly graduate male and female youth and other young people willing to invest in their own economic projects and who are 18-32 years old from different governorates in Palestine. This project seeks to build youth capacities and provide financial and non-financial services for them to start and develop their enterprises. Moreover, this project organizes field and study visits in addition to training so as participants get acquainted with successful models of small and medium size enterprises in several locations, benefit from them and encourage them to involve in the labor market due to the lack of job opportunities in the governmental, private or civil sectors.
