On Monday 29 February 2016, ACAD in cooperation with Tulkarem Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, concluded a training course of 30 training hours on “Build up Your Business”. The training targeted 40 young males and females of age group 20-30 years who are new graduates or searching for job opportunities.
After completing the training course and presenting the work plans prepared by the participants, the best eight (8) entrepreneur enterprises were selected on basis of professional criteria. As incentives, the best 8 enterprises were granted financial rewards in appreciation for their commitment to the training course and efforts made in the preparation of their enterprises’ work plans, which were professional, implementable and sustainable.
To improve competition and promote the entrepreneurship spirit among the participants to establish development enterprises that serve the Palestinian society and Tulkarem society in particular, a work day was implemented for the presentation of the selected enterprises by the eight participants. After presenting the enterprises, the best two were selected from among the eight enterprises by an arbitration committee. The two enterprises were granted financial rewards to build up their development and sustainable enterprises.
To continue cooperation between ACAD and the Chamber of Commerce in Tulkarem, the two parties agreed to implement other similar programs in Tulkarem governorate that target newly graduated students and unemployed youth. They also agreed to jointly work so as to raise funds from donors to support the small enterprises of the youth in addition to providing them with soft loans by ACAD Finance.
