ACAD’s general assembly holds its annual meeting and elects a board of directors for the next three years

On 15 May 2016, ACAD General Assembly held its annual meeting, which was also attended, via Skype, by its branch in Gaza, at ACAD’s headquarters in Ramallah.

During the meeting, the financial report of 2015, which presented by the representative of Deloitte and Touche, was discussed and approved by ACAD General Assembly.

ACAD Executive Director also presented the administrative report and activities implemented during 2015, which amounted to 11 development projects at a total amount of $915,974. In 2015, ACAD’s activities focused on development, training, rehabilitation, economic empowerment and lobbying and advocacy projects. These projects were geographically distributed on the different areas of the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem. The projects benefitted about 4,217 women, youth and farmers (1,688 women, 2,529 men and 102 persons with special needs).

The report also included the activities of ACAD Finance, the financial arm of ACAD-NGO, which financed 2400 small enterprises in the different productive sectors at $9 million and benefitted about 3500 persons.

During the meeting, the General Assembly also assigned an external auditor for 2016 and elected a new Board of Directors consisting of seven members of expertise and competence for the next three years.
